SWEATLOG HeadView

Climate measurement in helmets and general head protection products.

With 14 sensors mounted in a fixed grid on a lightweight cap, HeadView provides immediate and well-represented insight into heat and humidity developments within head protection products. Whether the measurement is performed with a human as a source of heat and humidity or with a SWEATOR-HEAD thermoregulation simulator depends on the objective. HeadView is equipped for both variants.

Thanks to the data logger and power bank, live climate data, e.g., while riding a motorcycle, in a helicopter cockpit, or during a police operation, is no problem. The entire system weighs only approx. 250 g (without power bank) and offers many hours of qualitative data security through recording on an SD card.

In the laboratory, the same scenario is conceivable as a test simulation with a SWEATOR-HEAD, this time with a quantitatively reproducible data basis for further professional development steps regarding insulation, ventilation, or material composition.

Our imaging method later offers analyses for revealing moisture or heat traps.

We would be happy to advise you in detail.

Shapes:

HeadView 14+1: SWEATLOG unit with 14+1 sensors, fixed on a cap (e.g., balaclava or lighter).

Suitability: Investigation of head protection products but also other surfaces to which the visualization concept can be applied (e.g., upper body front, back).

Data output:

T (°C), RH (%), AH (g/kg), HI (°C) = felt heat, Time (hh:mm:ss)

Data analysis:

Txt file for MS Excel or comparable application.

We offer application-oriented analysis files based on MS Excel.

Data visualization

HeadView enables planar interpolation and visualization of the measurement surface.

  • Development of climate properties of helmets, caps, hats, hoods, protective covers, etc.
  • Disclosure of comfort properties in the microclimate.
  • HeadView can also be used as a BodyView unit; it is not limited to a head.
